The Shenxing battery is the first of its kind in the world as it is an LFP battery that supports 4C charging.
The "C" refers to the battery's charge multiplier, which in simple terms is four times the charging capacity (in kilowatts) in relation to the size of the battery (in kilowatt hours).
This means that the battery can be fully charged in just 15 minutes.
CATL has announced that through some new developments, such as an innovative electrolyte formula with ultra-high conductivity, the Shenxing battery could potentially enable ranges of up to 700 kilometers.
It should be possible to charge enough electricity for a distance of 400 kilometers within ten minutes."

"The battery is currently being prepared for series production in China. The Shenxing battery is expected to be available from the first quarter of 2024. In addition to production in China, CATL will also manufacture its newly launched Shenxing LFP battery for electric vehicles in Europe.
