Some interesting thoughts although i sure ashell they are still not looking at the options after 16 months and now in the 11th hour!!!
That would just show they are incapable of making a decision along with contingencies and executing their choice unless the deadline is near and has an increasing, crushing grip on their proverbials.
That sort of time pressure leads to poor decision making.

I was hoping decision on the options was made and finalising an agreement or due diligence was near completion.

All such pure speculation again.
