Hope we all had a nice weekend.....
Well, try be short as been on the golf course and a few scotchs later thought I would try post something intelligent whilst the mkt & SP took a breather...lol..
I’m not so sure WBT will be looking at the IRIS scan as another modality though as IRIS generally utilises NIR (near infra red) camera requirements which would possibly negate one of the marketing & tech points of differentiation in so much as CSRA uses standard visible light spectrum which is much more readily accessible.
Anyway, once the Patent update is lodged, (and I’m monitoring obviously) then we will know what secondary modality has been encompassed within the Corneal Biometric modality. Think this is a great decision as it would appear that this is what the mkt is also looking for due to the concerns as below....multimodal will soon become the accepted option to allay any fears in consumers and reduce potential hacks/spoofs and again NXR/WBT appear to be thinking ahead, not just putting it out there to be shot down and then add something retrospective to any negative issues. This team appear on the ball to me.
So, what I’m actually seeing at the moment though is that most commercially available Biometric Securities are becoming more and more frequently hacked / spoofed. I have attached a bunch of links & vids around these recent occurrences if anyone if interested (to make easier) seeing our troll friends like to spout unsubstantiated cr@p contrary to the development of CSRA.
This makes it very interesting for NXR/WBT as one of the claims is that it is a “one time pin” which should, in theory if independently proven, make it spoof proof which is essentially what the mkt will be looking for. Any OEM will look at the most secure and easiest tech (cue standard camera in the visible light spectrum) to implement into their consumer product that will give them the best margin and marketing upper hand IMO.
Other main factor that the current crop of Biometrics are trying to get to grips with and play a bit of catch up, is the liveness test - this is naturally built in to CSRA so no additional hardware or algo’s to deal with - bonus to CSRA. While they all try to devise a work around, WBT/NXR already have it....
Overall, I think most people doing their own research will see the value in this tech & the companies, just that the mkt, as always and rightly so I guess, likes to see something tangible in regards to proof and revenue via agreements / sales.....me, that’s just a matter of time...draw your own conclusions...and good week trading all.....
