    Its actually 10:08 Maaze,

    Stems back to when the 1st digital watches stepped out in early 70's.

    The '8' is made of 7 individual segments of light, and by setting the watches to 10:08 they are using all available segments of light, except for the 2 middle segments of the 0's.

    This makes the watches look brighter and probably happier too.
