Regardless of an offenders age, gender, race or religion the act of spitting at another person IS and ALWAYS has been universally deplored in every society in every corner of the planet and for Millenia! The act of spitting is a gross, deplorable, despicable and insulting act intended to cause revulsion, and in any normal huma n being it garnishes an emotional response. It is a very deliberate act to invoke all the descriptive nouns used above. There is NO excuse or reason for it and it is shameful any person would excuse it regardless of who the victim may be, police or not! i would expect the courts will be extremely harsh with her as they well should be, especially in these times of a potentially deadly communicable disease spreading rapidly! It is a criminal offence and should not invoke any form of sympathy for the offender!
