Hi, would appreciate your oppinion!
-> i had a look at AU - AngloGold Ashanti and its Balance sheet. So assuming their 2Billion debt their EV is about 10Billion US$ for a production of 1.1mm oz per annum at 1000-1100US$ AISC-
The lowest cost mine in their portfolio and certainly the lowest risk is Tropicana, in which IGO owns 30%.
I wonder why is IGO`s marketcap so low compared to AngloGolds? Given AU plans to raise 2.5 billion and spin out their SA mines, it looks somewhat likely they will make an offer for IGO, doesn`T it?!
Assuming they`d offer a 40% premium, they increase their production by 9-12%, lowering their corp AISC by about 4-6% and would only need to issue less than 8% of their FD shares
This would not include any value for the other mines IGO owns, and their net cash position.
Looks like a no-brainer to me?!
