I was reading something today on some mine in South America and came across the phrase "Albion Process" and said to myself "hullo, hullo, hullo" I know something about that. From the deep, dark recesses of my mind I recalled that it had been developed by MIM and Highlands in the late 90's and early 2000's and was probably in connection with the Nena ore deposit at Freida. Anyway I did some reading up , and the last I could find of Highlands having an actual "interest" in the process was about 2012The actual process is now big time for "refractory ores" whatever they are, hard I think, and used around the world. The actual marketing rights were given to a crowd called Core Resources, a group of ex MIM employees. The whole thing is extensively talked about on the internet, but my interest is , what happened to our interest. ?? It's probably now been subsumed into Glencore Technologies but I don't know. Can anyone help me ? Obviously our interest is not of much value but we may maintain some rights, Say to use at Nina."The Albion Process was developed over 12 years of research and piloting at Xstrata’s Hydrometallurgical Research Laboratories (previously owned by MIM) at Albion in Brisbane; with co-developer, Highlands Pacific. To market the technology, Xstrata Tecnology and Highlands Pacific formed a partnership with Core Resources, a private resource development and financing company established and run by Jonathan Loraine, who was previously responsible for MIM’s technology business."
