PWallace, I've disvovered that psychologically I'm an each way betting man - I like to take a profit but I dont want to miss out on further potential.

The answer to that dilemna that works for me is to split my holdings into short & long term holdings. I tend to allocate 25-50% of my holdings to short term trading & keep the balance for longer term (which does not mean buy n hold - it might mean 6-12 months for me).

I also sold at 34 thinking that resistance at 35 might not be reached or breached again this time, but I still have plenty left. No regrets that way - I've both banked some profit & looking forward to BLY finally making the big move we've been waiting for (hopefully) - psychologically very satisfying, & doesnt hurt the bank balance either...
