Muddy, but safe and sound: Frantic search for missing Matilda ends
A toddler who went missing from a remote WA station spent the night battling raging floodwaters and soaring temperatures before frantic searchers found her safe and sound nearly 24 hours later.
After nearly 24 hours and as the mercury reached 35 degrees, Matilda was spotted by a helicopter walking about 3.5 kilometres south of the homestead.
Her Jack Russell was still by her side.
Covered in mud, looking considerably less happy than her exhausted parents, little Matilda was reunited with her parents on Thursday afternoon.

My thanks to everyone who was involved in her rescue.
