Moly, I tend to agree with you on the VRC using its discretion as it has on a number of occasions in the past. Even if Precedence were not a Cummings horse, it deserved a start before Williams' horse.

The VRC and the racing industry needs to keep a close eye on this Melbourne Cup. If a horse like Masked Marvel wins or runs in the top 3, then some questions need to be answered. The Cox Plate form of a few of Williams' horses need to be closely watched in the Melbourne Cup. If there is a huge reversal in form, then the VRC owes it to the public to question Williams. You can't make a mockery of the Cox Plate. Not saying he is running his horses dead in the Cox Plate, but it seems they are surely just getting a training run for the Cup.

Last year you could not have backed Green Moon after its Cox Plate failure. This year, Masked Marvel was running backwards at the 700m and didn't be Puisance De L and it broke down.

I don't care how much money you spend in the industry, you can't do as you please in big races and have massive reversals of form all the time. Questions need to be asked.
