And I suppose there are those that do say they are heroes.

But as much as you disdain the differences...it is the differences that make all the real difference.

For the vast vast majority of their acts...the Stern Gang attacked targets of opportunity that were administrators, military or of diplomatic value

They did not terrorise the population at large

They did not seek to cause death and carnage to the uninvolved civilian groups

And whilst they did things that they shouldnt have and history may treat them poorly...

...the sheer barbarity, magnitude and emphasis of the Pali terror campaign does lead to a different evaluation of their relative campaigns.
