Producing results was a term used by the weapons inspectors. The results were to prove as much that WMD's did not exist as it was to prove they did.
Yes the Iraqis may very well have been playing games and hiding and moving things. Yes once the war is over some form of chemical weapons may be found and I would be surprised if something is not, whether anything found could have been a threat to any other country is yet to be seen. Remebering the Bush administration was making claims of 100s of tonnes of chemical agents, war heads and so on.
Again it was not a question of believing Saddam over the US but not believing either and wanting to see proof. The weapons inspectors were producing proof of no WMD's ( albeit the accuracy could be disputed) compared to the US producing no proof and what was produced was proved to be outright lies.
