I was sitting here thinking of WW2 and about the use of atomic weapons against Japan.
I then imagined for a moment what would have happened if VE had not preceeded VJ?
And if so, when the Allieds were contemplating the Normandy invasion and they HAD (hypothetically) the A-bomb at their disposal - what would be the shape of Europe if the A-bomb had been used against the city of Berlin &/or Munich instead??
Quite interesting scenarios arise.
Would Russia have engineered the division of Berlin and in so doing precipitated the Cold War. would they have eventually gained the technology and brought about the arms race
Would communism have taken hold?
The questions are seemingly endless but interesting.
