We have been continuously told that GHG acts much like a Greenhouse. Energy is trapped. That is the simple version on what the SETTLED SCIENCE sold us. and what we are still told told today!
The settled science uses the Earths Black Body Temperature to VALIDATE their view of the science.
It is not disputed that the observed /calculated OUTGOING longwave radiation IS 239 W/M2.
Now using the LAW of CONSERVATION on Energy it is thus assumed that the known average global output MUST equal the average solar INPUT to EARTH.
So Average Output of 239w/m2 MUST equal Average Input of 239w/m2. A discussion for another day is using AVERAGES. But not applicable in this discussion.
So the readily accepted AVERAGE GLOBAL incoming and outgoing of 239W/M2 for Earths energy equates to -18'C with no GHG's present!
No alarmist is going to dispute this!
The IPCC has endorsed the above that the Earths average SURFACE temperature MUST be -18'C without any GHG's. We all accept that we do not live in a average global temp of -18'C!
So what has the settled science done to lift our AVERAGE GLOBAL SURFACE temperatures to the accepted surface average temperature of 15'C.
The IPCC has endorsed this theory that by introducing a Back Radiation and thus doubling the incoming energy BACK to the SURFACE of our world by an additional 333W/M2 we can lift the Worlds average temperature to 15'C
NOW THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. Pay ATTENTION
So Earths SURFACE temperature at -18'C WITHOUT ghg's and a OLR of 239W/M2 as dictated by the science now has an addtional 333 W/M2 back radiation introduced. And this additional back radiation warms our EARTH up by 33'C to have EARTHS average surface temperature at 15'C ...........................................
and STIL leaving our OLR unaltered 239w/m2.............................
The Earths energy budget makes that very clear. Average incoming surface solar radiation and Earths Outgoing Longwave radiaiton (OLR) are not affected by BACK RADIAITION!
So this is back in 2000 when the settled science was being sold to us. OLR SHALL not change assuming SOLAR INPUT remains unchanged. Now over the years the actual numbers may have changed but the outcome remains unchanged. Increased GHG's will / shall not increase OLR.
So now basic arithmetic tells us that the more that ghg's are introduced it CAN ONLY decrease the OLR.
