If you thought religious fundamentalism in government was restricted to places like Iran and the USA, think again. Kevin Andrews, the Victorian Liberal backbenchermember of the Lyons Forum, a Christian group with clout inside the Howard government. Its members include Howard's two parliamentary secretaries, Senator Nick Minchin and the `Tasmanian morals campaigner' Chris Miles, Treasurer Peter Costello, Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer, Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Herron and Queensland National Bob Katter. These bigots remind me of Britain's Tories, strong on `family values' rhetoric, yet addicted to sleaze.
