It was not a complex economic plan. Turnbull was giving big business a tax break that was going to cost billions over 10 years in the hope that trickle down economics will make the economy stronger. So if I am a large corporation do I spend the additional money from the tax break on employing more people or do I increase dividends to raise the share price higher and hence get a nice hefty bonus because I increased the share price?
Its hard to sell such a policy when ordinary Australians are facing increasing cost of living expenses (health care included).
