Can you elaborate about that?

I would have thought that if I arrive to Australia with a pot of dough which was accumulated while being a resident of another country (not OZ), then surely I won't be taxed on that when I bring it with me ?

I understand that money made when residing there (perhaps that includes money made anywhere in or out of Aus) will be subject to Aus taxes, but not money made in advance.

In case it wasn't clear before, I plan to move there once I've reached my targets, not before.
