No, I think aussie blokes have this right - we actually don't even need helmets- we really only have them because women think we need them.

In actual fact there is no need to protect our brains at the age we play cricket competitively.
We don't start using the brain for at least a decade after that - where as the ball box is definitely useful for protecting equipment that we constantly use at that age.

See, Aussie blokes aren't dumb at all.
