Global Ltd (ASX:ICC) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary,
Westel Wireless Systems Pty Ltd, has overnight received a significant
stocking order from its new distributor Icom America.
Icom America has been ordering in batches of five or six base
stations since its appointment late last year.
Following the featuring of the Westel base-station in recent Icom
advertising campaigns, Icom has increased its most recent stocking order
to 20 base stations worth over $200,000 to Westel.
As a result of recent improvements in manufacturing capacity,
Westel expects to complete the production of this order during the
current quarter.
Since its appointment last year, Icom has been steadily signing
dealers in the US as digital dealers, authorised and trained to sell its
range of digital public safety communications equipment.
This range includes its own APCO Project 25 (P25) handsets and
mobile radios, together with Westel compatible P25 digital base stations
and repeaters.
