The real issue here is whether a change of govt can maintain the present momentum in the economy, given the heavy Union involvement and possible effects on inflation and productivity. Most Australians are fairly stoical about these matters, but our overseas investors, particularly those from Asia, will be nervous and I would not be surprised to see them profit take and withdraw their money from our markets. This could happen as early as today.
