From what I can tell AAQ went into administration in 2009. I'm not sure when AC left but it must have been before 2006 because he was MD of Vulcan by then, assuming he wasn't managing both companies which seems highly unlikely. He's not listed as among the senior management at AAQ either.
This would suggest he had nothing to do with with AAQ's "train wreck" - in fact AAQ actually did very well for a while in the early 2000s. Several years and a Global Financial Crisis elapsed between AC leaving and AAQ folding.
With AustCancer it seems Cowden left before 2004 (or at least wasn't MD) and the company didn't fold until at least 2005. Having trouble finding more info on it.
Can you give us any more info on these companies and AC's role in them from your research?
