The expansion problem with silicon anodes is dangerous as it will cause explosions and fires for EVs. The 400% physical expansion and contraction of the battery cell every time you charge and discharge it, is a serious safety concern that is years away from not only being solved, but also years away from being proven at scale.
You need the graphite to keep the silicon stable and the battery cell safe. Elon was talking about silicon anode to try and combat Lucid's 507mile range news. Tesla is definitely working on a silicon anode and so is Novonix, but that is at least for 5-7 years away min.
PUREgraphite anode with infused silicon is the best anode material in the world to give increased range and keep the battery from exploding and causing fires.
When Novonix announces these supply agreements, it will prove this fact....
What I'm looking forward to over the coming months are the following:
Supply and Licensing Agreements for all 3 Products (Companies) Below to multiple Battery Makers for EVs and Grid Storage and US Military applications, as well as breakthrough announcements for all 3 Products (Companies) as Pr Mark Obrovac and his team continue to develop new breakthroughs.
Below are some of the companies in the EV Battery space that Novonix is working with in North America, we should also see some EV battery maker agreements in Europe for the products above.
Supply Agreements with LG Chem, SK Innovation, Panasonic for VW, GM, Tesla, Rivian & Ford. As well as CATL and BYD.
There are also the cathode manufacturing companies like BASF, POSCO, VALE, Mitsubishi chemical, FUJITSI, and many more than will need DPMG to significantly reduce their costs and environmental impact of manufacturing cathodes for EVs and Grid Storage.
