I wouldn't rule it out down the track for their Tesla Semis.
The semis only do 500 miles on a single charge, which is roughly around 800km.
From LA to New York is around 2750 miles. That means it needs to charge almost 6 times.
Think of the difference it makes for freight purposes.
Time wise and savings for a trucking company.
