There is also an economic factor to consider and that is that any mushy PASS that lands in a landfill has to be lime treated within prescribed EPA times - a costly and time consuming way to dispose of PASS.
With the 2 TMBs churning out thousands of tonnes of muck daily and temporarily tranferring it into its 30,000 tonne holding shed - timing is of the essence and TBM cannot afford to be stopped because there is a hold up in PASS disposal.
NAG can work 24/7 if necessary to facilitate safe and effective disposal.
