Perhaps it is time for MGC to become a fully listed company and the current Board step down and be replaced with a different skill set and dairy farmers be allowed to freely determine what they want to do with their capital and not have it tied to their supplier agreement.

It currently operates an outdated business model for its size that someone fiddled with on the basis of personal aspirations and the Board let them get away with it and it completely destroyed the good bits and has left many wanting.

The risk with this is some heavyweight offshore predators are just waiting in the wings so it needs to be thought through carefully and then planned and executed with great caution. Maybe BEGA would be interested in merging.
