Binding Agreement for the development of

aluminium-scandium alloys

MELBOURNE, Australia – Sunrise Energy Metals’ (‘Sunrise’ or ‘the Company’) (ASX:SRL and

OTC:SREMF) Managing Director and CEO, Sam Riggall, is pleased to announce that the Company has

entered into a binding Agreement (the ‘Agreement’) for the development of aluminium-scandium

alloys with UACJ Corporation (‘UACJ’).

Key Highlights

• Sunrise Energy Metals is working with UACJ to develop a family of scandium containing

alloys for transportation parts and equipment

• Trace additions of scandium increase mechanical properties and thermal stability in

conventional aluminium alloys

• The Company’s Sunrise Project in New South Wales can produce up to 200 tonnes per

annum of scandium oxide suitable for use in the alloy market

The Agreement with UACJ, Japan’s largest aluminium producer, will focus on the research and future

development of aluminium-scandium alloys for the use in transportation parts and equipment.

Under the Agreement UACJ and Sunrise will develop a range of aluminium-scandium alloys for

material characterisation testing in specific components. Sunrise will contribute its technical

expertise and, over time, provide the scandium needed by UACJ for use in the alloys.

this growing market.”
