there could easily be a backlog of core on site which is causing delay, if MYG are not set up well or have limited staff for this job it does tend to stack up, jobs include

- laying the core out and inspecting it
- marking what meters it came from (drillers put a marker at the end of each rod)
- geos marking up the core and logging what they find
- putting the core back into trays
- - geos deciding wich areas they want sampled
- cutting up the core, usualy in half or quarters down the middle, 1 part is kept so it can be looked at later and one or two parts are sent away for sampling


this explanation is a bit simplistic and geos out there will be rolling there eyes

if MYG are cutting lots of core this could be a good sign that the geos have identified lots of prospective samples and have lots of work to complete the job, I would be worried if everything was done too quickly

by the way, diamond drill rigs drill into the ground and produce tubes of rock called core, the core is lined up in its right order, then cut down the middle for inspection and sampling

if the delay is caused by loads of core that needs to be sampled thats a good delay

also if holes have been extended this can be a good sign that the geos have found something good or unexpected or the mineralisation is still comming up at the bottom of the hole which wasnst expected, usualy you wouldnt extend to far if you didnt find what you are lookin for so if a fair bit of lenght has been added that could be very interesting
