I dont think Magna care about the sp all that much. They get their 15% and the quicker they get their cash back the more they can lend out to another distressed company. Their business model is based on quick turnover. The faster the better for them. Why do you think the contract involves some limits/conditions on Magna selling? Magna are not an ally. The quicker the relationship is terminated the better. How Mgt got themselves in this situation and then pretended it was a 'highlight' has got me stumped.
