As a long term PRR/IMM holder and believer in the principle of harnessing/supercharging the body's own defences, I would like to think Lag-3 has a major role to play. BMS, Novartis, Merck and others have a fairly extensive Lag-3 trial pipeline and BMS is due a phase 2/3 data read-out soon (end of year - early 2021).
Cvac was a huge loss and I would imagine most of us at that time would have accepted PRR one trick pony was dead and thrown in the towel. Marc did not. Self preservation in acquiring IP assets from Federick and raising new funds with help from existing and new shareholders? Maybe but I dont think so.
Several years later, AIPAC phase 2b results were disappointing in terms of placebo/chemo v efti/chemo statistical significance and recruitment delays (endocrine interim treatment). Sub-groups (over 50% on trial) did have a statistical benefit and as we have seen efti seems to have a durable/late response ability. If OS data end of this year is compelling enough, then a phase 3 trial may well be worth big pharma getting involved? Licensing/partnership/??
All that said, its not been easy watching the market cap falling significantly over time and then more dramatically recently.
So, why remain invested and support new cap raises? I'm not a philanthropist (or masochist - jury might be out on that one) but believe there must be better treatments (and quality of life) for cancer sufferers other than multiple chemo/radio. Immune checkpoint inhibitors work really well but not for all cancers types or patient populations. Perhaps the future is in combination treatments and thats where I believe efti may have a major role to play in future options with all current 'standard of care' treatments.
We will know for sure by early 2021 - 9 months max - all imo of course.....

I’m with you Hodgie. Always said I’d be in till the data proves or disproved, but its a bitter pill at the moment. It’s just too good in theory to walk away from unless it’s proven to be a dud. But need a vent on occasion when things make no sense. I also believe AIPAC will turn around.
