that’s in the past.......what’s changed? Divorce costs sh1tloads, it was rare decades ago, you go from a couple paying off a mortgage and investing to two broke people under mortgage stress. Cars on finance cost an absolute fortune. Everyone wants a McMansion these days, no two bedroom houses anymore. Overseas holidays. We’re the “must have it now” society compared to saving up for what we want. Private schools. People used to do their own renovations.....need I go on?
