Normally I would turn this into a proper research post and it would take me some time to formulate my story, add some graphics and content, research some references and finally edit and publish.
But tonight I am just going to type from the heart.
I literally stumbled across Sirtex in an AFR magazine at the time. They no longer publish the mag and i'm all the worse off for it. It gave me the odd idea and a number of their suggestions worked out well. Yes of course you still had to filter and perform your own research and not eveyerthing worked out. But it did give me SRX. (It also gave me A2M which was a super hit but that's another story)
An Aussie company once listed on ASX, got taken over by a Chinese CompanySo what is the relevance and parallel to us?
1) It was an Aussie stock
2) It was in the Medical and Health sector
3) It was at the start of their story
4) It was something novel
5) It had some good potential in terms of growth
Paradigmers, our own PAR ticks all of these boxes above, and how. I mean it's all that Sirtex WAS but oh so much more.
Why do I say this?
Well let's briefly cover off Sirtex a little more to complete the comparison puzzle.
I haven't done a jigsaw puzzle for a number of years, but you and I both know the feeling of satisfaction when the puzzle pieces fit perfectly and at the end of it you get a complete pic...not unlike what's happening with the stock we have invested in...piecing it together as time goes by.Sirtex was an Aussie company that developed irradiated micro-spheres to target liver cancer. A novel way of pinpointing this awful scourge called cancer. Now the ironic part was that THEY FAILED their Primary endpoint! Despite that after a share tanking, their share price recovered. It came on Mozz's radar at $7 when I read it in AFR Mag...I just had a small exposure..a few hundred shares...but from there it went up and up and finally they got taken over at $33...How? When they failed their primary endpoint? Yes but their secondary endpoints cleared and after all, it was a novel approach to Liver cancer..no other company was doing that.
Now Paradigmers, drawing parallels again...their target markets is SO much smaller than ours.
That was the
only thing they were working on...we have multiple pans on the stove...(Our cook top is the 1800 mm commercial grade as oppose to just a 600 mm job). Within just a few short years their share price still climbed from $7 to a max of $40...finally after Sirtex's SP dipped a bit they got an offer too good for them to refuse..$33 odd..the shareholders were happy at the time (It fetched a premium at the time). All cash offer.
Our potential market, in comparison is quite simply enormous, we already have passed Primary
and multiple Secondary Endpoints and our Phase three trial will be essentially the very same design as our Phase two with the same marking score card (endpoints) as Phase two. Add to this MPS and the others as well as the super vast realm of Pain and Inflammation...well I don't really need to say much...Magnificent...all we as shareholders have to do is just
one thing........Wait.
