    Not so sure about your extrapolation on the derivation of words or their extended meanings, however, this tale is every bit as real as the book of Genesis when both are taken literally.

    In fact the origins of this tale may very well be a remnant of some ancient and mostly lost religious revelation from back in the mists of time. There are undoubtedly a number of major religious movements that have been lost to history. Great civilisations have emerged, flourished for a time and then been dispersed. As far as I can tell they were all built on belief systems that were the central hub of the entire life of these communities or city states. Their religions were just as valid as any religion we have today. They served their place and time.
