If, as you say there were 50 nuclear plants stopped, the fact that now, all these years later, as the USA is proposing building numerous new plants as well as updating many of their existing plants, it only reinforces what I said regarding the US falling behind the times

Consider the coal industry, perceive what it was like in the 19th century, a terrible death causing methodology for power, industry and warmth. It has evolved and been regulated to a position far removed from those times. Perhaps the nuclear industry is treading the same path, and you can be sure, that the nuclear industry would have caused a fraction of the death and suffering created by coal
