It's important to remember that the 3 Mile Id incident was caused by a failure in the power station systems. A distrust in the systems of a nuclear power plant could be expected to, and as you say cause cancellation of plans to build many others.

In this case (as you of course know)the problems have been caused by the largest measured earthquake in Japanese records then for good measure followed up by the tsunami.

This I'm sure will spook the market for a short while but I think PEN will only be affected short term as the market comes to realise that there will be little long term effect (my opinion only) and the huge number of nuclear plants on the drawing board will most likley proceed.

I think as far as PEN is concerned next week will see the big players out in force trying their games to manipulate the SP to their best advantage - meaning they will be trying to get more at as low a price as possible.
