that is in line with the thinking of watso, when he read grant64's post. unionists (and if a union official - was democratically elected to serve their members) would have a better idea of what is important to "rank and file" australians, than the likes of abbott who simply say "tough t.tties - get another job. the likes of abbott have not got any idea. the pm has no idea - that is why he in the end, had to introduce a useless "fairness test"
it seems that preaching the fear of unions, is only preaching to the converted (those 40% of people who are going to vote liberal) - the rest of the population is not listening - or indeed, when the libs push the line, it only reminds people that the unions are the last line of defence for average joe blow
