acl's phase 2 was open label, their phase 3 wasn't.
neu's phase 2 was double blinded with a patient group that was very unlikely to be effected by the placebo effect.
In neu's phase 2 the placebo patients showed little alteration. The lower dose showed improvement and the higher dose showed good improvement. Just what one want's to see.
There's still risk, but I agree that acl and neu are world's apart.
