I suspect that the leak probably wasn't from Redflow in this case; they may not even have been aware that the deal was on at the time the price query was issued. There are plenty of other more closely involved places from which the information probably came: Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communication, Optus....

I suffered no personal loss but on principle I believe that reporting these issues is warranted. Even if ASIC just sends some emails asking for information about who knew what and when and takes it no further, it shows that this kind of behaviour attracts attention.
