A rant on the continued debate on the Australia Day date, page-10

Australia Day should be January 1st, because that was the day we became a nation in 1901. It will never happen, because we'll quickly discover that Australians care more about their public holidays than having a National Day; Australia Day is just an excuse for another one.

I turned off the Australia Day coverage from the Opera House after a couple of minutes on being informed that the continent "always was, always will be" Aboriginal land. Why put out something so divisive on a day that is supposed to unite us? Shame on the ABC; Buttrose has been in the job 5 years too long and I hope Williams can right the ship, some of the leftards there have cause to be worried.
