that's exactly the problem with conservative thinkers -- by the time you work out that the system is broke - at the speed of change that we are going through - it will be too late.

everyone is bitching about the quality of politicians and leadership right now - and have been for many years -

don't you even get the slightest hint that it might be the system which IS broke that is the problem???????

What we have is buggered, What the yanks have is buggered and what most of the places in Europe have is buggered.

    Wakey wakey.

We are heading headlong into a poverty stricken Australia -- it's as clear as crystal -

and, what is as clear as crystal is that if we don't change the system - radically - we will not stop that progress -

no matter which main party we have in power - labor or liberal and nor any of the rest of the nutters if they ever fluked a gig.

Wake up fellas - it's the system.

Haven't we noticed that since we started the real acceleration of technology - since about when PC's got pretty good and the internet actually became usable - that our leadership and political parties -- ALL of them - have started to be very ineffectual - basically staggering from election to election - and crisis to crisis - from bubble to burst to bubble - and back, again.

It's the system stupid ---------------- it cannot keep up with the pace of change ------------- it IS broken.

And, if we care to look down the track even 20 years - the pace of change will make what we are in now look like a snail.

If our system can't cope now - how, in the name of god is it going to cope in the future????????

Answer is very very simple ---------- it won't. Just not possible.

Not the crap we have now in Australia - nor a republic as we know them.

We stagger from year to year or at best term to term ------------ but, with rapid change - it's like firing a gun at a running target -

you have to aim well in front of where the target is now ---- and, the faster the target - the further in front you have to aim.

Many of our 'systems' we put in place now that have huge political debate to get them going are way way way obsolete before they are started - let alone when they are finished -

    exactly for the same reason.

We are so slow to aim the gun and aim at the wrong place that we don't even hit the target in the r's - we miss it altogether

sorry - need something completely new.

    Pinto
