The RST technology uses microwaves as part of the process. Just read any of the patents. Do customers need to have expensive and complicated microwave transmitters in their production lines then? Are they cooking their workers with them?

I've not spent near the time on this company that most of you have and I don't have the history. But even minimal Googling shows that when the Evans & Tate reverse merger occurred the only technology Alexium had was the RST method of applying coatings to fabrics or other substrates. The method caused the coating and the fabric to shed toxins and chemicals and do all kinds of great things. But among other disadvantages it required the substrate to be microwaved as part of the process and was not cost effective or efficient for manufacturing fabric in volume.

Hence, when NC took over he more or less ditched RST - that's why they are not paying anymore royalties to the DOD. On NC's direction Dr. Bob and the company started focusing on FR chemistry that could be simply sprayed on and thus applied cheaply. Does any of this sound familiar to those of you who've been around?

So spray on FR is all well and good but the question is whether there are any patents on it. Simply saying they have a number of patents in a number of jurisdictions means nothing without knowing what they're for. They could be for making fountain pens or buggy whips.

And just for the record, you say that there's plenty of proof the patents exist but you've provided none. Maybe others are impressed with your cutting and pasting Wikipedia entries about patents so that there are a lot of words in your post, but I'd be much more interested in actually seeing an FR patent, or seeing a link to one, or getting the issue number of one.

My understanding was that they had adapted the same process to attach FR chemicals to the fabric, rather than the hydrophobic chemicals which the DOD had used. Therefore a patent on the process, rather than the function, was sufficient protection.

The economic rationale was from the fact that FR sells for more (plus the product is superior to existing FR), as opposed to costing less.

Perhaps greater protection can be achieved by patenting specifically for the FR end use. Is this what the patent applications pertain to?
