but it doesn't make them "not" an active holder, is my point. If Rio was paid just a cash settlement (and a larger one at that) then you know for sure they are not an active share holder. You yourself claim Grange could have raised the money. Rio has now invested interests in GRR and so it does make "RIO a protege to GRR". Grange is in the position to ask RIO for their input on any matters which they want to bounce off Rio. Rio will not refuse. Why would they?

Anyway, hopefully we soon should have a Middle Eastern JV partner on board at a fair price to Grange's worth. This in return will make all of us happy and should convince Rio to convert their September options come September.
