I am all for the prices of the battery metals going up - great news for shares in mining companies but the fact of the matter is if it goes too high then the cost of producing batteries using these materials and the follow on costs of the end product (vehicles) also becomes too high - necessity is the mother of invention and once all the brains in the car making companies decide to focus on new battery tech and developing alternatives the current EV metals we so love now will be like comparing iron to aluminium and go by the wayside.
