a royal commission is required

The Thompson scandal has exposed corruption that is so ingrained it eclipses the ability of any one law agency to deal with it. That corruption is repugnant to fair minded people of all political persuasions.

Clear evidence of crime has been referred to FWA rather than police because the accused was an ex union official.That body is refusing police access. That body is run by ex union officials. The body was legislated into power by ex union officials. The government was elected on a campaign funded by union officials.

No person should be above the law. No organisation should be above the law. Clearly union officials and unions now think their influence over the government and Prime Minister puts them there.

There is even clear evidence that these powerful people can control the legislature, the executive, the public service and even the press.

There seems to have been evidence of corruption by the Prime Minister who has exerted influence to have it not discussed in the media.

Let the sun shine in. There should be a Royal Commission to determine how far corruption extends beyond the HSU into the rest of the union movement and whether the unique position of the unions should be protected by their funding for a political party.
