watso,
I live in Tony Abbott's electorate and worked at the last election. I'm not a member of the Liberal Party and have never been a member of a Political Party.
At the last election, people from Tony's electorate went to many Western Sydney electorates to help with the election.
Setting up signage, handing out how to vote cards and scrutineering are just some of the jobs that are require to collect those few precious votes to get across the line.
When the votes are counted if you don't watch the AEO counters they can make a pile of 48 votes count for 50.
Not all do it but a few percent can be scalped if scrutineers are lazy and too busy on their i-phones.
Wonder how many of the true election "workers" will not bother next time around. Not sure how Loyal Malcolm will rectify that one.
