    "I think Bank Cheques can be cancelled as I lost one once and rang the bank and they cancelled it straight away."

    That means you could get one made up then say you lost it and cancel it and pass it on to me for a big ticket item like a car. It goes deeper than that but that's the general jist.

    Bank transfer with clearance is the safest option.
