Perhaps the ASX would like to create a small separate exchange where bots can compete against eachother, just like us retail investors should be able to do, on a level playing field. The smartest bot and the best flash traders will reap the rewards, just as the smartest and most cunning daytraders obtain their profits.

So the establishment of a BAFTSX, Bot, Algorithmic and Flash Trading Stock Exchange... obviously the big brokerage houses wouldn't like it, which proves that they are using small retail traders as pawns to unfairly reap profits. But I can't think of any fairer solution... there should be no lack of liquidity on this exchange as around 50% of all trades on the ASX seem to be of these type. Let the bots battle it out amongst themselves and ditto with retail traders and investors.

The large fees the ASX charges institutions to set their bots free on ASX stocks, and the negligible brokerage, should be classed as accepting a bribe, and hence deemed illegal. Institutions are paying to receive a blatantly unfair advantage. It is no different to a government accepting payment from a company to turn a blind eye to its illegal dumping of toxic waste in a residential area.

There have been some great anti-bot posts on here recently. I hope someone with some political clout and ethics has been reading. Or hopefully at some stage a professional investor/trader will work his way into a position of power in the Liberal or Labor party.

    Keep the pressure on!
