A couple of associates and I, who meet occasionally to discuss these sorts of matters, predicted the energy crunch was going to happen at some point, but we thought it might only be closer towards the second-half of the decade.
Well, we was wrong: it has happened a lost sooner than even the most concerned among us had expected.
And, worse, it increasingly looks like it will ultimately be a lot more severe than we had expected.
When there is a financial crisis, you can print money.
But when there is an energy crisis, you can't simply print energy.
(And it takes energy to create new energy.... and some energy forms require a LOT of energy to be created.)
