I think society has always turned a blind eye, or just not cared, about women who lived together.
As far as I know the prohibitions on sodomy are in the koran, bible, tumud and the soviet legal system had the same prohibition in its penal code based on the tenants of natural law. Almost every country and moral system banned sodomy.
Why I corrected you is that I object to the use of propaganda to obscure the truth. The sodomites prefer to talk of "gayness" instead of legalising sodomy.
In my view their real agenda is to entice vulnerable children and young adults into their practices.
