Here’s one for unsubstantiated rumours file, from The West’s ‘Herd on the Terrace’ business gossip column today;
Given that Vanadium batteries are of a large scale nature - more for grids than for EVs, I guess the only interest from Elon in regards his ‘empire’ would be along the lines of improving his grid power wall batteries ?
…. If the rumour was true, and if the interest focused on TMT?
But why not?
Here’s a recent Seeking Alpha story looking at that very subject?

The world’s richest man, space explorer and electric vehicle pioneer Elon Musk is said to be making a flying visit to WA.
The Bull’s source says the Tesla boss is interested in dropping in to talk to battery metals players who may be able to offer raw materials to his growing battery and electric vehicle empire.
Tesla already has offtake deals signed with locally based Wesfarmers-SQM joint venture company Covalent Lithium and aspiring lithium player Liontown Resourcesas well as BHP’s Nickel West, so it would not be surprising that other potential suppliers might be on his radar.
US news reports were on Friday pondering “Where in the World is Elon Musk?” noting his nine-day hiatus from posting on Twitter, his longest break from the social media platform in nearly five years.
Perhaps he’s already on his way?
