I am long UNIS, having purchased my first shares in February 2013. As such, I have experienced the same ups and downs as many of you. While I am frustrated with each new series of negative articles, I have also noticed that there appears to be a limit on how much these articles can lower the share price.
The below chart illustrate the effects of several concerted, short-driven efforts. Admittedly the chart doesn't capture all events of the past year. I just thought it provided an interesting visual perspective.
Three observations:
1. It would seem that there are limits to how much the shorts can drive down the share price.
2. In spite of the shorts' efforts, the current share price is significantly higher than a year ago.
3. The SP appreciation that results from good news (deal announcements & the recent finance deal)have been significant. Seems reasonable to me that future deals and the eventual delivery of product would have a similar, positive effect.
